Common issues and how to fix them
Go to Settings → Steps slider. Reduce from 20 to 10–15. Fewer steps = faster generation with slightly lower quality.
AI generation uses significant memory. Close other apps to free up RAM for faster processing.
Reduce the image count to 1 instead of 2–4. Each additional image multiplies generation time.
Thermal throttling slows the Neural Engine significantly. Remove your case and avoid direct sunlight.
Swipe up from the home screen to close Luminance completely, then reopen it.
Go to iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage. Luminance needs at least 500MB free to generate images.
Lower the Steps slider to 10 and generate 1 image at a time. This reduces peak memory usage significantly.
A full device restart clears memory and can resolve persistent crashes.
Go to iPhone Settings → Luminance → Notifications. Make sure Allow Notifications is turned on.
Open Luminance → Settings → Notifications → toggle on "Generation Complete".
If you have Focus (Do Not Disturb) enabled, notifications may be silenced. Add Luminance to allowed apps in Focus settings.
Open Luminance → tap the Settings icon → tap "Upgrade to Pro" → tap "Restore". Sign in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that was used to purchase Luminance Pro. Check in iPhone Settings → [Your Name].
Go to iPhone Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions. Confirm that Luminance Pro shows as active.
If none of the above work, contact our support team with your Apple ID email and purchase receipt.
Go to iPhone Settings → Luminance → Photos → select "Add Photos Only" or "Full Access".
Make sure your device has sufficient free storage. Go to iPhone Settings → General → iPhone Storage.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen, swipe Luminance away, then reopen from your home screen.
Open the App Store → tap your profile icon → scroll down to find Luminance and tap Update if available.
Delete and reinstall Luminance. Note: this will clear your gallery. Your Pro subscription will be restored via the Restore button.
